The exhibition takes place in the Halliwell Conference Centre at Trinity College, Carmarthen, Wales. Here are some suggestions on how to get there, from several directions, by Car, Train and Bus, and places to stay, if you need to stay overnight.
Carmarthen is in South West Wales, just past the end of the M4 motorway (via the A48), and on the main A40 trunk road.
From the north and east, when you get to Carmarthen, follow signs for the A40 to Fishguard until B&Q is passed on the left. Take to next exit from the dual carriageway (very tight left turn). At the traffic lights turn left (signed Trinity College and Halliwell). At the next set of traffic lights (The Friends Arms Pub is opposite) take the skewed junction straight ahead (right then left) onto Jobswell Road. Some college buildings appear on the right. The road turns sharp right at the top of the hill, and becomes College Road. Turn right into the main entrance (passed the gates) and main college car park. The Halliwell centre is to the right of this car park.
From the west either take the exit from the A40 signed for Johnstown and Llanstephen, follow the road to the traffic lights, and turn left (the Friends Arms Pub) onto Jobswell Road. Follow the instructions above from here. Alternatively (or if you miss this exit!) continue on the dual carriageway (passed B&Q on your right) to the roundabout, turn round here (take the A40 back towards Fishguard), so that you pass B&Q on your left, and take the first exit, as in the instructions above.
Carmarthen is served by an excellent railway service. Arriva Trains Wales run an hourly service direct from Manchester via Crewe, the borders, Cardiff and Swansea. They also run more local services from West Wales and Swansea, which operate approximately every other hour. There are also services to Cardiff International Airport (via a bus link). Change at Bridgend for services to Swansea or Carmarthen.
First Great Western operate a daily service direct to Carmarthen from London. They also run an hourly service from London to Swansea, with Arriva Trains Wales services connecting Swansea and Carmarthen.
See National Rail for services and connections from the rest of the country. You can also buy your tickets online.
Railway Station to College
Bus services run to college from the bus station (short walk over the new bridge, or via busses between the bus station and railway station). See the by bus section below.
There is a taxi rank outside the station. See the Links page for details of local taxi companies.
The 226, 227 and 228 bus services run regularly from the bus station to outside the college entrance. For timetable information look at the Carmarthenshire Council Bus Timetable.
For a selection of places to stay overnight, if you need to, see the 'Places to Stay' section of our Links page.
